Notes from Richard, Cecilia and Gracie

The following is a recent email we received from Richard one of our volunteer Puppy Raisers.  Richard and his wife, Cecilia are raising Gracie, who is an eight month old Golden Retriever.

"I hate snakes, and couldn't believe that Gracie missed the whole thing!  I kept trying to show Gracie the snake through the screened lanai but it was like all she saw was a twig.

I finally got a fireplace poker and scared the snake into the pool where it swam to the scimmer.  I then took Gracie to the scimmer and lifted the top.  I had to then get the pool brush and hit the snake a few times before it darted out of the scimmer and through the white fence.

Gracie was watching the whole time but never saw the snake!  Her interest seemed to be in watching me make a fool out of myself."
